Jean Griffin Borho, LCSW
Jean is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who for the past five years has focused her clinical interests in areas of adult individual psychotherapy, couples therapy and group therapy. She shares similar goals with her clients by incorporating self-awareness and self-reflection to help facilitate meaningful change beyond the therapeutic space. Jean assists clients to understand and to develop healthy relationships with themselves by building and strengthening internal coping skills. These capacities allow for processing of inner wounds and work to make connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Jean utilizes evidence-based clinical interventions such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy to address a myriad of challenges such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. These interventions help to address and to develop effective ways to cope with anxiety and depression, and to recover from trauma.
Clients working with Jean can expect for her to provide a safe and warm holding space that is non-judgmental and supportive. Jean is passionate about helping clients learn how to make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives by accessing their strengths.
In the area of couples therapy, Jean’s work focuses on couples who struggle with communication, trust, and intimacy. She believes that healthy relationships are crucial for overall well-being. She employs a combination of interventions such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method Couples Therapy to help couples strengthen their communication and connection to navigate challenges.
